Terms of Use

Last updated: October 27, 2026

About these terms

SabiMastery (the “Platform”) is operated by Macy and Udy Ltd (RC8116436), a company registered in Nigeria with its registered office at 19 Stream Road, Ikot Effanga Mkpa, Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria (“SabiMastery”, “we”, “us”, “our”). These Terms of Use are a binding agreement between you and Macy and Udy Ltd for your use of our website, Android app, and all related services — lessons, practice, mock exams, AI tutoring, the tutor marketplace, certificates, and school and employer licences.

By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to these terms. Our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Refund Policy and Security Policy form part of this agreement. If you use SabiMastery under a school or employer licence, that licence agreement also applies and prevails over these terms for the licensed service if the two conflict. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Platform.

Key points (summary only — the full terms below govern):

  • You must be 13 or older. New accounts complete an age check first; 13–17 accounts stay locked until a parent or legal guardian approves them.
  • SabiMastery is an exam-preparation tool. Scores and forecasts are practice estimates, not official results, and we never guarantee an exam outcome.
  • Paid plans are charged only on the express recurring authorisation you give at checkout, renew until you cancel, and are refunded only as the Refund Policy describes. There is no free trial.
  • Tutors are independent contractors. Teaching services booked through the marketplace are provided by the tutor; we provide the platform, payments and dispute resolution.
  • Don't cheat, scrape our question banks, share accounts, or misuse the Platform — we may suspend accounts that do.
  • Nothing in these terms limits consumer-protection rights you have that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Eligibility & accounts

  • Age. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. A new account must complete our age check before onboarding or using the Platform: you will be asked for your date of birth, an 18+ account is unlocked immediately, a 13–17 account stays locked until a parent or legal guardian approves it from their own email inbox, and an under-13 result deletes the account. If you are under 18 (or under the age of majority where you live), that guardian agrees to these terms on your behalf and is responsible for your use of the Platform. Giving a false date of birth or guardian details is a breach of these terms. Schools enrolling learners under a licence are responsible for having any additional authority and consents needed; school membership does not bypass the age check.
  • Accurate information. Provide accurate, current information and keep it up to date (see Account settings). Accounts are personal to you: do not sell, transfer or share your account or credentials, and do not let anyone else use your account to access paid content.
  • Sign-in. New accounts are created through Google sign-in or a one-time email sign-in link, followed by the age check above; some existing accounts also sign in with email and password. You are responsible for all activity under your account. Keep your credentials secret, and tell us immediately at support@sabimastery.com if you suspect your account has been compromised — see our Security Policy.
  • Roles. Tutor, affiliate, school and employer accounts have additional eligibility and verification requirements described in the sections below. We may refuse, suspend or remove any role or listing that does not meet them.

The learning service

SabiMastery provides structured lessons, quizzes, checkpoints, mock exams, diagnostics and study plans for the examinations listed on the Platform, plus AI-powered assistance and access to independent tutors. What each plan includes — exams, features, and allowances — is described on our Pricing page and in your account, and may differ between the Free plan, the Premium, Pro and Professional plans, and 90-Day Sitting Passes.

  • Usage credits. Paid plans include a monthly allowance of usage credits that lessons, quizzes, checkpoints, mock exams and AI features draw on, as shown in-product, subject to daily and weekly session caps. Unused credits roll over only up to 2× the plan’s monthly allowance. Credits are a licence to use the service: they are not money, have no cash value, are non-transferable, and expire when your plan or account ends, except as the Refund Policy provides.
  • Progression rules. Some content unlocks only after earlier lessons, quizzes or checkpoints are passed, and some examinations or advanced levels require a paid plan. Passing thresholds and gating are shown in-product and apply equally to everyone.
  • Changes and availability. We may add, change or withdraw content and features, and may suspend the Platform for maintenance, security or legal reasons. We will take reasonable care to keep the service available and to give notice of significant changes where practicable, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation.
  • Offline and downloads. Where the Platform lets you save lessons for offline use or download notes, summaries or certificates, that material is licensed for your personal study only and remains subject to “Our intellectual property” below.

AI-generated content & scores

Lessons, questions, explanations, marking, translations and the AI doubt-solving chat are generated or assisted by artificial intelligence (using third-party AI providers under contract, as described in our Privacy Policy) and reviewed for structure and answer quality. AI output can be incomplete, out of date or wrong: always apply your own judgement, and check important matters against your official syllabus, textbooks, school or examination body. Diagnostic scores, band/score forecasts, readiness estimates and AI marking are practice estimates only — they are not official examination results, do not predict or guarantee any outcome (including grades, admission, licensure or employment), and no examination body endorses them. You are responsible for what you submit to AI features; do not submit other people's personal data or material you do not have the right to share, and never use SabiMastery or its AI features during, or to cheat in, an actual examination. If you believe an automated score or decision about you is wrong, contact us for human review as described in the Privacy Policy.

Plans, billing & taxes

Payments on the website are processed by Flutterwave by card, bank transfer/USSD or mobile money, depending on your market. Purchases in the Android app are billed by Google Play under Google’s terms. Prices are shown before you pay and include any applicable tax: VAT at 7.5% is applied for buyers whose billing country is Nigeria (and elsewhere where required by law). Flutterwave’s processing fee is handled by us and is not added as a separate buyer charge. Prices may be displayed in NGN, GHS, KES, ZAR or USD converted at indicative exchange rates; you are charged the amount and currency shown and authorised at checkout, and your bank may apply its own conversion or fees.

Monthly30 daysThe monthly price
90-day (quarterly), where offered90 days2.5 months at the monthly price
Annual365 days, with usage credits still added every 30 days10 months at the monthly price
  • Express authorisation; no free trial. There is no free trial period: what you authorise is charged, and what is charged is what you were shown. A card subscription is taken only on your express authorisation, recorded at checkout with the amount, the plan, the billing cycle and the date you agreed to it. That authorisation lets us deduct the plan price from your saved card for the first period at the time you give it, and then on the same cycle until you cancel. We email you before the deduction that follows your first paid period.
  • Renewal and cancellation. Subscriptions renew automatically on their cycle (every 30 days for monthly plans and tutor listings; yearly for annual plans) until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from Billing (or in the Play Store for Google Play subscriptions — deleting the app does not cancel). Cancelling keeps your access through the period you have already paid for — the full year, for an annual plan — after which it does not renew and no further deduction is taken.
  • Price changes. If a plan’s price changes, we tell you and ask rather than apply it: your subscription keeps being deducted at the amount you authorised until you accept the new price from Billing, and if you decline — or never answer — that authorised amount stays your price for as long as the subscription runs.
  • Failed or expired cards. If the card on file reaches its expiry date, we pause the deduction and ask you for a current card instead of sending an expired one to be declined; add one and the plan resumes with the period you already paid for intact. If a renewal payment fails, we may retry it and may pause paid access until it succeeds or the subscription is cancelled.
  • Sitting Passes. A 90-Day Sitting Pass is a one-time purchase of 90 days’ access to one examination, including the credits stated at checkout. It does not auto-renew and cannot be paused or extended.
  • Chargebacks. Contact us before disputing a charge with your bank — see the Refund Policy. While a chargeback is open we may pause access to what the disputed payment bought, and amounts recovered by chargeback may be treated as unpaid.

Refunds & cancellation rights

When you can get a refund, how much you get back, how long it takes and how to request one are set out in our Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms; the version in effect when you paid applies to that purchase. Cancelling a subscription stops future renewals but is not, by itself, a refund. Nothing in these terms or the Refund Policy limits cancellation, withdrawal or refund rights that applicable consumer-protection law gives you and does not allow to be excluded.

Tutors & the marketplace

The Platform includes a marketplace where independent tutors offer 1-on-1 and cohort packages. Tutors are independent contractors, not employees or agents of Macy and Udy Ltd. The contract for teaching services is between the learner and the tutor; SabiMastery provides the platform, payment processing and the dispute process in the next section, and is not responsible for the content or quality of a tutor’s teaching, although we verify tutors as described below and may remove listings that fall short.

  • Becoming a tutor. To teach a subject, a tutor must either score at least 95% on that subject’s ADVANCED skill checkpoint or pass our standalone qualifying test for that subject (including a written teaching demo reviewed by a person). Every tutor must also pass our identity and credential background check before publishing packages or accepting bookings. Verification is not an endorsement and may be withdrawn at any time.
  • Tutor subscription. Listing on the marketplace requires an active tutor subscription: a flat monthly listing fee at a rate the tutor sets (subject to our published minimum), renewing every 30 days until cancelled. It is separate from, and in addition to, the commission below.
  • Commission and payouts. Tutors keep 85% of package revenue; SabiMastery retains a 15% platform commission, calculated on the price before VAT. A tutor must accrue at least ₦5,000 in net earnings before requesting a payout. To protect buyers, payouts are held for 14 days after the related sale so refund and dispute windows can clear. If a sale is refunded or charged back after payout, the tutor’s share is recovered from their balance or future payouts. Tutors are responsible for their own taxes on their earnings and must keep payout account details accurate.
  • Tutor responsibilities. Tutors must describe packages accurately, deliver what the listing promises, attend sessions they accept, communicate professionally, keep learner information confidential and use it only to teach, and comply with the “Acceptable use” rules below.
  • No circumvention. Learners and tutors must not move a package bought through SabiMastery — or a learner first introduced through SabiMastery — to off-platform payment to avoid platform fees, buyer protections or taxes.

Bookings, sessions & disputes

  • Rescheduling and cancelling. A learner may cancel or reschedule a booked session free of charge at least 24 hours before it starts (the booking slot is returned to their package), up to 2 self-service reschedules per session. Inside that window, a learner cancellation uses the slot, and a reschedule needs the tutor’s approval. A tutor may cancel or move a session at any time, and a tutor cancellation is always free for the learner.
  • No-shows. Either side may report the other as a no-show within 48 hours after the scheduled start. A learner who misses a session without rescheduling at least 24 hours ahead is treated as having received it (see the Refund Policy).
  • Live sessions. Sessions are streamed live and are not recorded by us. Do not record, share or publish a session or another participant’s image, voice or messages without their consent.
  • Disputes. If a tutor does not deliver what a package promised, or you disagree about a session or order, raise it with us within 14 days of the session or purchase. We will review session records and messages, give both sides a chance to respond, and decide the outcome — including any pro-rata refund — under the Refund Policy. Our decision does not remove any right either party has under applicable law.

Certificates & progress summaries

Certificates and practice progress summaries issued through SabiMastery record study activity, contact/CPD hours, or practice results achieved on the Platform, and can be verified by anyone you share the verification code or link with. They are Macy and Udy Ltd training records only: they are not qualifications, licences, or results issued or endorsed by any examination body, university, regulator or professional institute, and whether an employer, school or professional body accepts them (for example, toward CPD or contact-hour requirements) is entirely at that body's discretion. Progress summaries are valid for 90 days from issue. Do not alter a certificate or summary, or present it as something it is not; we may revoke anything issued in error or obtained by fraud or cheating, and the verification record will then show it as revoked.

Schools & employer licences

Schools, study centres and employers may buy seat licences giving named learners access for a licence term, billed by invoice on the terms of the applicable licence agreement or order form, which prevails over these Terms for that service. The organisation's administrator is responsible for allocating seats only to authorised users, for having the authority and any parental/guardian or employee consents needed to enrol them (including for learners under 18), and for removing users who leave. Seats are for the licensed users only and must not be shared or resold. Refunds, seat counts, renewal and termination for licences are governed by the licence agreement, not the consumer Refund Policy. Reports and progress information made available to the organisation are described in the Privacy Policy.

Affiliates & referrals

  • Affiliate programme. Approved affiliates earn commission on the platform net revenue of eligible purchases made by users they refer (learner plans, Sitting Passes and progress-report products in full; for tutor packages, only on our commission share — never on school/employer licences or advertising spend). The starting rate is 5%, rising on published volume tiers to a maximum of 10%; the rate that applies when a commission is credited is the rate then shown in your affiliate dashboard. A minimum balance of ₦5,000 must accrue before a payout can be requested, and payouts are subject to the same 14-day protective hold and refund/chargeback clawback as tutor payouts.
  • Affiliate conduct. Affiliates must market SabiMastery honestly, must disclose their affiliate relationship as advertising law requires, and must not use spam, misleading claims (including guaranteed exam outcomes), self-referrals, fake accounts or other fraudulent traffic. We may withhold or reverse commission earned by fraud and may terminate an affiliate account for breach.
  • Referral programme. Every user has a referral code. When someone you refer makes their first paid plan or Sitting Pass purchase, you receive the reward then shown in-product (currently 14 days of Premium-level access plus bonus credits, with a credits-only reward where a higher-tier plan cannot be extended). Self-referrals do not count, rewards require a verified email address, and if the referred purchase is refunded the reward is reversed. Referral rewards have no cash value. We may change or end the referral or affiliate programmes, or their rewards, at any time; changes do not affect balances already accrued except for fraud or refund clawback as described above.

Advertising & placement

Tutors may buy homepage advertisement placements and may fund a placement-auction budget that bids for the top positions in tutor search. Placements are allocated by a continuous second-price auction: your bid is a ceiling, and the daily rate you actually pay for a slot is determined by the next-best competing bid (or our published reserve), as explained in the advertising dashboard. Advertising and budgets are prepaid at the prices shown at purchase, are subject to our approval of the advertised content, and must comply with applicable advertising law and our Acceptable use rules — we may reject or remove non-compliant ads. Placement improves visibility only; it never affects verification, ratings, or search relevance labels, and is identified as promoted where required. Refunds for advertising and placement budgets are governed by the Refund Policy (amounts already spent delivering placements or impressions are not refundable).

Your content & licence to us

“Your content” means anything you upload, submit or create on the Platform — tutor package materials and listings, profile information, notes, flashcards, messages, reviews, written or spoken practice answers, teaching demos, and language contributions. You keep ownership of your content.

  • You grant Macy and Udy Ltd a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable and sub-licensable licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt for formatting, display, distribute and otherwise use your content to operate, provide, secure and improve the Platform — including showing tutor listings and reviews publicly, delivering your messages, generating your certificates and summaries, and using de-identified or aggregated material to improve content quality. This licence ends when your content is deleted, except where it has been shared with others who have not deleted it, must be retained by law, or is embedded in records such as issued certificates and payment records. How we handle personal data in your content is governed by the Privacy Policy.
  • You promise you have the rights needed to submit your content and that it is accurate where you present it as fact, lawful, and does not infringe anyone’s intellectual-property, privacy or other rights. You are responsible for your content.
  • We may (but are not obliged to) review, moderate, remove or disable access to content that breaches these terms or the law, and may preserve and disclose content where legally required or needed to resolve a dispute.
  • Feedback. If you send us suggestions or ideas, we may use them without obligation or payment to you.
  • Intellectual-property complaints. If you believe content on the Platform infringes your copyright or other IP rights, email support@sabimastery.com identifying the work, the infringing material and your contact details. We will review and, where appropriate, remove the material in line with the Nigerian Copyright Act 2022 and other applicable law, and may terminate repeat infringers.

Acceptable use

You must not, and must not help anyone else to:

  • Break the law, commit fraud, or use the Platform during or to cheat in any real examination or assessment (SabiMastery is for preparation only).
  • Harass, threaten, defame, discriminate against or exploit any person, or post unlawful, obscene or infringing content; impersonate any person or organisation, including an examination body.
  • Share, sell or rent your account; create accounts to evade limits, suspensions, credit/session caps or plan gating; or use another person's account.
  • Scrape, harvest, bulk-download, copy or redistribute lessons, question banks, mock papers or other Platform content (including to train a competing product or AI model), except personal downloads the Platform expressly provides.
  • Circumvent payments, credits, security or content-moderation measures; probe, scan or test the Platform's security except in good faith under our Security Policy's responsible-disclosure rules; introduce malware; or overload or interfere with the Platform or other users' access.
  • Spam users, manipulate reviews, ratings, referrals, affiliate traffic or auction outcomes, or move marketplace transactions off-platform to circumvent fees.
  • Collect other users' personal data, or use learner/tutor contact details obtained through the Platform for any purpose other than the booked teaching relationship.

We may investigate breaches, remove content, and suspend or terminate accounts under “Suspension & termination”, and may report unlawful conduct to the authorities.

Our intellectual property

Macy and Udy Ltd (or its licensors) owns the Platform — its software, design, brand, curriculum content, question banks and AI systems — and all related intellectual-property rights. Subject to these terms and your plan, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Platform and its content for your own study or, for tutors, to teach through the marketplace. You must not copy, modify, distribute, sell, rent, publicly perform, reverse-engineer (except where that restriction is prohibited by law) or create derivative works from the Platform or its content except as these terms expressly allow. Examination names and marks (such as WAEC, JAMB, SAT, TOEFL, IELTS, GMAT and GRE) are trademarks of their respective owners; SabiMastery is not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by any examination body.

Suspension & termination

  • By you. You may stop using the Platform at any time, cancel subscriptions from Billing, and delete your account at Delete account. Deletion is permanent: your data is handled as the Privacy Policy describes, and remaining credits and active plans are lost without refund — request any refund first. Some accounts cannot be self-deleted while money or other users are affected (for example a tutor with active students or an unpaid payout, or an in-progress refund); support will complete those deletions with you.
  • By us. We may suspend, restrict or terminate an account, listing or role — with notice where practicable — for breach of these terms, fraud or suspected fraud, non-payment or chargebacks, risk to other users, or where required by law. Where the law requires, we will give reasons, and you may appeal by contacting support; we will review appeals in good faith.
  • Effect. On termination your right to use the Platform ends and paid access and credits cease, without refund except as the Refund Policy or applicable law provides. Tutor and affiliate balances properly accrued and not subject to hold, clawback or fraud withholding remain payable under the payout terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (including Your content, Acceptable use liability, Disclaimers, Liability & indemnity, Governing law & disputes, and General) survive termination.

Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Platform and its content are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. In particular: SabiMastery is a preparation tool and we do not warrant that content is complete, current or error-free, that mock exams replicate any real examination, or that using the Platform will produce any grade, admission, licence, employment or other outcome. Where you are a consumer, this section does not exclude any warranty, guarantee or right that applicable consumer-protection law (including Nigeria's Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act) does not allow to be excluded, and our liability for breach of any such non-excludable term is limited only as that law permits.

Liability & indemnity

  • Our liability cap. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the total aggregate liability of Macy and Udy Ltd and its officers, employees and contractors arising out of or in connection with the Platform or these terms is limited to the total amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim (or, if you paid nothing, to resupply of the relevant service).
  • Excluded losses. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill, examination opportunities or anticipated savings, even if advised of the possibility.
  • What is never excluded. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for wilful misconduct, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, nor does it limit the Refund Policy or your statutory consumer rights.
  • Tutors. Because teaching services are provided by independent tutors, we are not liable for a tutor’s acts, omissions or teaching quality beyond operating the verification, payment and dispute processes described in these terms and refunding amounts as the Refund Policy provides.
  • Your indemnity. To the extent permitted by law, you will indemnify and hold harmless Macy and Udy Ltd and its officers, employees and contractors against third-party claims, damages and reasonable costs arising from your content, your breach of these terms, or your unlawful use of the Platform, except to the extent caused by our own breach or negligence.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time to reflect changes in the service or the law. When we do, we will post the new version here and update the “Last updated” date; if a change materially affects your rights or obligations, we will notify you in advance by email or in-app notice, and the change will not apply to purchases already completed (refund rights for a purchase follow the Refund Policy in effect when you paid, and subscription price changes require your acceptance as described under “Plans, billing & taxes”). If you do not accept updated terms, you may cancel and stop using the Platform before they take effect; continuing to use the Platform after they take effect means you accept them.

Governing law & disputes

These terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or the Platform are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Please contact us first at support@sabimastery.com about any dispute — most are resolved quickly and informally by our support team, and marketplace disputes follow “Bookings, sessions & disputes” above. Subject to any mandatory right you have as a consumer to bring proceedings (or complain to a consumer-protection or data-protection authority) where you live, you and Macy and Udy Ltd agree that legal proceedings will be brought exclusively in the courts of Nigeria.

General & contact

  • Entire agreement. These terms, together with the policies and any licence agreement incorporated into them, are the entire agreement between you and Macy and Udy Ltd about the Platform and replace any prior agreements about it.
  • Severability and waiver. If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in full effect and the provision will be read to give it maximum lawful effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
  • Assignment. You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these terms without our written consent. We may assign ours in connection with a merger, acquisition, corporate reorganisation or sale of assets, with notice where the law requires.
  • Notices. We may notify you by email to your account address, by in-app notification, or by posting on the Platform. Notices to us must be sent to support@sabimastery.com or by post to Macy and Udy Ltd (RC8116436), 19 Stream Road, Ikot Effanga Mkpa, Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria.
  • Force majeure. Neither party is liable for failure or delay caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including outages of power, networks or third-party providers, natural disasters, epidemics, war or government action.
